Germantown School Board notes

The Germantown School Board filled two administrative positions July 25. Todd Lamb was selected as the new director of pupil services while Katie Kohel was selected as the new principal at Amy Belle Elementary School.

Lamb has been with the district for 13 years as a school psychologist while Kohel had been an assistant principal at Ben Franklin Elementary School in Menomonee Falls the past two years.

Gym cameras approved
The board approved the purchase and installation of surveillance cameras in gyms throughout the district at a cost not to exceed $31,097. The purchase and installation of the cameras will be split between the district Fund 41 Capital projects and the Village of Germantown Recreation Department Non-Lapsing Fund.

Donations accepted
The board accepted the following donations:
• $400 from WaterStone Bank to the high school choirs;
• $400 from the Target Take Charge of Education Program to Kennedy Middle School;
• Grants from the Kennedy Middle School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) to school teachers Stephanie Steinert for a new classroom stove ($500); Wendy Veldboom and Leslie DeLain for the Civil War Reenactment ($1,000), KMS counseling for career brochures ($560) and the Monday House for a document camera and accessories ($1,000);
• $2,000 from the Kennedy Middle School PTA for the purchase and installation of basketball hoops;
• $2,000 from the Kennedy Middle School PTA for the purchase of a Smart Board; and,
• $1,000 from Conflex Packaging and Sandy Ruggles for poster board to be utilized by students and instructors across the district.
